Dr. Pound Historical Farmstead

We encourage volunteers of all ages to

be a part of Dr. Pound Historical

Farmstead and Museum.

A Bridge to the Past

A pride and love of history is a common thread among our docents at the Pound House. Everyday at the Farmstead and inside the Pound House are opportunities to make discoveries of the past to share with those that come. It has been said, “Without the past there is no future.”

What can you learn from being a docent?
History of Dripping Springs, central Texas, Texas, and even the United States. Dr. Pound's background spans many areas and cultures.

What kind of training will I get?

Training consists of a full tour, step-by-step directions on opening and closing procedures,
and a docent script for you to take.

What are the benefits?

First hand knowledge of the heritage of Dripping

Springs and inclusion on all VIP events.

Do I dress in period clothes?

We prefer for our docents to dress in period clothes. Sometimes a farmstead polo/t-shirt is all that is required. Feel free to bring your own or we can loan you some. For special group tours, it is required.

We rely on volunteers in our programming and event activities. If you would like to volunteer, please contact us.
